Shows are listed at the bottom of the main page and also under the Shows pull-down menu on the main page.

How do I find the channel / video I want to watch?
You can find your show by consulting the directories on the main page: Channels, Show, or Schedule.

GENERAL:

Where did Knox ivi get its name? What does ivi mean?
“Ivi” refers to internet video. This is the first ivi for hyper-local internet video broadcasting, and we named it “Knox” to refer to the general geographic area (Knoxville) where we’re located. Our programming currently includes content based in Knoxville and the surrounding counties.

What is Local ivi?
“Local ivi” is the parent company for “Knox ivi.” As other ivi stations are initiated in other geographic areas, Local ivi will supply technical and administrative support across all ivis. “Local ivi” is the company that oversees ivi development.

Can I purchase a copy of my show appearance?
Yes, please email info@knoxivi.com with your DVD requests.

How much does it cost to view an event on Knoxivi.com?
Knox ivi programming is free to view.

How do I get in touch with a show host?
Please email us at info@knoxivi.com, and we will forward it to the host.

Who can I contact regarding opportunities to bring content to the Knox ivi network?

Can I watch the taping of live shows?
Yes. We have several shows currently in production at our Market Square location that welcome a live audience:

--11 O'CLOCk ROCK! is live, Monday – Friday at 11:00 AM
--The Scruffy Citizen is live, Wednesdays at 4:00 PM

TECHNICAL:

Why am I not able to see or hear any videos?
You may need to update Internet Explorer to the newest version and restart your computer. If you are still having trouble, switch to an alternate browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.

What are the technical requirements for watching videos on Knoxivi.com?
Mac OS/Windows 98,XP,Vista,7/Linux OS’s – all with flash plugin’s installed and enabled. Browsers supported: I.E, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Opera.

What browsers does Knoxivi.com support?
Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Opera.

Why am I not able to hear videos?
Make sure your speakers are on and the volume is not muted on your desktop/laptop. Also, make sure the volume leaver is up to a moderate level on the player.

Why is Knox ivi not recognizing that I have Flash installed?
Either flash is not installed correctly on your computer, or it is not enabled.

Can I embed videos from Knox ivi?
Yes. Social media links are available through a plugin inside the video player.

Why does my video sometimes stop while I’m watching a show, or why will it buffer (skip, stop, or freeze)?
Most likely, this is caused by network latency issues on the end user’s computer performance [i.e., connectivity issues, large load on the machine, multi-tasking (more applications or programs open than your ram will allow)]. Our system has automated multi-bit streaming, which means that your computer should receive our video stream at a resolution that is appropriate for your system. This greatly minimizes video buffering and stopping.

What are the bandwidth requirements to view programming?
Broadband cable connection or dsl/adsl connection.

Can I view events on Knoxivi.com with Mac OS X?
Yes, with the flash plugin installed and enabled.

Do I need to download anything to watch videos on Knoxivi.com?
The Adobe flash plugin.

Can you broadcast live from places other than your studios?
Yes, we can! Many of our shows are broadcast from remote locations. Almost all sporting, high school, and college events are broadcaston location. Have questions? Take a look at our Video Production Section (link) or email us: production@knoxivi.com.

When do the advertisements play on Knox ivi videos?
Commercials are placed between segments on shows or videos as you are accustomed to seeing on TV. Knox ivi normally has 12 minutes of advertisements per hour, which is less than TV or radio. Commercials are retained for full on-demand viewing.

Are there other advertising opportunities at Knox ivi?
Yes, we offer logo links on each channel – these are sometimes referred to as banner ads. Our logo links are uniformly sized, and your logo is placed beside the viewer screen with an active link to your website. You can designate your home page as the logo link destination, or a coupon or other special campaign page. Logo links are available for viewing 24/7.
